Weld Precision Redefined

Positioning accuracy down to ±0.02mm. When we say micron-level, we mean it—and we have the motion control systems to back it up. Our proprietary beam delivery optics ensure consistent weld penetration across the entire work envelope, eliminating the hot-spot variability that plagues conventional systems.

±0.02mm Accuracy

Accelerated Weld Cycles

Processing speeds up to 80m/min put more finished parts on your shipping dock. Our dual-beam wobble technology reduces spatter by 60% compared to single-beam systems, which means less post-processing and fewer rejects. The result: faster throughput with tighter tolerances than MIG or TIG can achieve.

Up to 80m/min Speed

Zero-Defect Weld Quality

We use IPG and Raycus fiber laser sources paired with Precitec welding heads and Yaskawa servo drives—components selected for reliability in 24/7 production. Each system undergoes a 72-point inspection before shipment. Our in-line quality monitoring detects defects in real-time, catching problems before they become scrap.

What Manufacturers Are Saying

★★★★★

"Thermal Dynamics completely transformed how we think about welding. We switched from TIG to their TD-AW system and our cycle time dropped 40%. The weld consistency is remarkable—our rejection rate went from 3.2% to under 0.5%. Everything else feels outdated now."

Marcus Chen VP Manufacturing, Pacific Auto Components
★★★★★

"We evaluated five laser welding brands for our medical device line. Thermal Dynamics won on three criteria: beam quality consistency over 8-hour shifts, the real-time weld monitoring system, and their willingness to customize the fixture design for our specific part geometry. Not the cheapest, but the most capable."

Dr. Sarah Lindgren Process Engineer, NovaMed Instruments
★★★★★

"Finally, someone who's actually innovating in this space. The TD-HW handheld welder handles 3mm stainless at 1.2m/min with a heat-affected zone under 0.3mm. Our welders picked it up in half a day. The wobble function is not a gimmick—it genuinely smooths the bead on lap joints."

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about laser welding technology. If you don't find what you need, our engineers are one message away.

Ask Our Engineers

Laser welding typically runs 5-10x faster than TIG for comparable joint types. The concentrated heat input (spot size 0.2-2mm vs TIG's 3-6mm arc) creates a narrower heat-affected zone, which reduces distortion on thin materials. However, laser welding has tighter fit-up tolerances—gaps over 10-15% of material thickness can cause issues. For parts with inconsistent gap widths, our wobble welding mode widens the effective spot size to 3-4mm, bridging gaps that would otherwise require filler wire. The trade-off: capital cost is higher, but operating cost per weld is 60-70% lower at volumes above 500 parts/month.

Our fiber laser systems weld carbon steel (up to 12mm), stainless steel (up to 10mm), aluminum alloys including 5000 and 6000 series (up to 8mm), copper (up to 3mm with green laser option), titanium, Inconel, and galvanized steel. Some material combinations are more challenging—dissimilar metals like aluminum-to-steel require specific beam parameters and may need interlayer materials. We provide free sample welding for any material combination you're considering, along with cross-section analysis and tensile test data.

Every system includes on-site installation, operator training (typically 2-3 days for handheld units, 5-7 days for automated cells), and a 2-year warranty covering the laser source and all mechanical components. Training covers safety protocols, parameter development for your specific materials, daily maintenance routines, and troubleshooting. After installation, you get access to our remote diagnostics platform—our engineers can connect to your machine's control system to identify issues without a site visit. Spare parts ship within 48 hours from our regional warehouses.

All Thermal Dynamics systems meet IEC 60825-1 and ISO 11553 safety standards. Our automated systems are Class 1 laser products (fully enclosed), meaning zero direct operator exposure to laser radiation during normal operation. Handheld units are classified as Class 4 but include: laser-safe viewing windows, dual safety interlocks on the trigger, auto-shutoff sensors that detect when the nozzle lifts from the workpiece, and mandatory laser safety eyewear rated OD6+ at 1070nm. We also include fume extraction recommendations and can supply integrated extraction systems. Laser safety training is part of every installation.
